A Step By Step Guide How To Easily Cook Beef Brisket At Home

For holiday meals and family dinners, people like to serve beef brisket. Cooking beef brisket at home takes a lot of care and time. But when it’s cooked, its taste and smell will make you feel that your effort is paid off. It’s going to be super delicious, tender, just a great meal to warm up your day.

There are many ways to make beef brisket and here is a step by step guide:

Ingredients:

Ingredients needed for this recipe are 2 pounds first-cut brisket, 3-4 teaspoons kosher salt, and 2 teaspoons of freshly ground black pepper. You will also need ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper for seasoning. You will get fresh beef brisket stored in meat serve over counter from any nearby store.

Other than these ingredients, you will need carrots, a large sliced onion, and 4 cloves garlic. A cup of apple juice and one tablespoon of minced fresh rosemary will also be required for gravy.

Directions:

Step 1: Seasoning:

Take a bowl and add kosher salt, freshly ground black paper, and cayenne pepper in it. Then mix all of these together. Put the brisket on a plate and after that wipe off some extra moisture. Then season both sides of brisket with the mixed ingredients. And be generous while seasoning because it’s a large piece of meat. Just press all that seasoning in there.

Step 2: Cutting Vegetables:

Take two carrots, celery stalks, 4 cloves of garlic, and an onion. Remove the top and tail of vegetables and cut them in large pieces.

Step 3: Cooking:

Before putting it in the oven, cook the meat and vegetables a little bit in a pan. So, you need to heat up some oil in a pan and put the brisket down into your pan. When its one side is cooked for a couple of minutes, flip it over and get the other side. And when both sides are cooked, you can pick it out and cook vegetables a little bit.

For cooking vegetables first add chopped onions in the pan and fry it until it's translucent. When the onions are fairly translucent, add rest of the vegetables and apple juice in the pan. Cook it on low to medium flame until the gravy reduced by half.

Step 4: Baking the Brisket:

Pour half of the mixture into your roasting pan and put the brisket on top. Then put some herbs and rosemary in the pan and cover the brisket with the rest of the mixture. And in the last, cover the roasting pan with foil.

Bake it in a preheated oven (to 325 degrees) for about one and a half hours. Then reduce the temperature to 250 degrees Fahrenheit and bake it for more than 2 hours. While baking, you need to baste it around every 30 minutes. Just put the mixture or gravy on the top of the beef to keep it moist and flavorful.

Step 5: Serving the Brisket:

When you are done with baking, transfer the beef brisket to a cutting board and gravy to a bowl. Cut the brisket into pieces. Place it on the serving plate and serve it with delicious vegetable gravy.
