5 Instant Ways to Perfectly Cook Brown Rice at Home


Knowing how to cook brown rice is an essential culinary skill. Cooking brown rice is easy and tiresome at the same time. Brown rice is very notorious for your health. It is rich in fiber and has antioxidant properties. Brown nice is as necessary as scrambled eggs. Restaurants around the entire world have specialized kitchen equipment suppliers, but the main thing is how you can make them flawlessly at home. Everyone loves having a pot of brown rice in the fridge. They are the starting points of many curries and stir-fried rice. But sometimes our brown rice turns out too gummy, overcooked, and mushy. Now say goodbye to that mushy brown rice that you cooked in the past.


1. The Pasta Method:

Ingredients:

1-cup rice

6-cups water

Seasonings

Directions:

In a large pot, pour water and bring it to boil.

Now add rice and let it cook.

Rinse the rice in a colander and remove the excess starch.

Add the rice back to the boiling water. Reduce the temperature and let the rice simmer in water for 30 minutes.

Now drain the rice and put them in the pot again. Cover the pot and turn off the heat.

Let it sit there for 10 minutes. Add seasonings as desired.


2. The Quick Method

Ingredients:

1-cup soaked rice

1½ cups water

Seasonings

Directions:

Add the soaked rice and water to the pan.

Bring the rice to boil.

Now let it simmer with the lid covered.

Once water is absorbed, remove from heat and add the seasonings.

Allow it to sit for 10 minutes.


3. In a Rice-Cooker

Ingredients:

2-cups rice

3-cups water

½ teaspoon salt

Directions:

Rinse and drain the rice.

Put the rice in a rice cooker. Pour 3 cups of water into the rice cooker.

Add salt and turn on the cooker. Let it cook for 45 minutes.

Turn off the heat.


4. Add Vegetables

Ingredients:

1-teaspoon cooking oil

2-eggs (whisked)

1-cup mixed vegetables (Frozen)

2-cups cooked brown rice

1/3 cup soy sauce

Directions:

Take a large skillet and heat oil.

Add vegetables and cook for 3 minutes.

Now add cooked brown rice and soy sauce.

Cook it for 5 minutes.

Pour whisked eggs into the rice.

Cook it for 1 minute. Now break the eggs with a spoon.

Season it with desired seasonings.


5. Add Cheese:

Ingredients:

2-cups water

1-cup brown water

½ cup red bell peppers (chopped)

¼ cup red onion (chopped)

1-cup cheddar cheese (shredded)

Directions:

Add water and brown rice to a pan and bring it to boil.

Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 50 minutes.

Now in a skillet, lightly cook the bell pepper and onion.

Then add bell pepper and onion to cooked rice.

Add cheddar cheese to the cooked rice and continue stirring until the cheese melts.
