Ingredients:

  • Three tbsp. olive oil

  • One and a half kg chuck steak (diced)

  • Two onions (cut in cubes)

  • Three cloves of garlic (minced)

  • Two tbsp. tomato paste

  • One liter beef stock

  • One cup red wine

  • Two dried/fresh bay leaves

  • Two tsp. of salt

  • Two tsp. of black pepper

  • Three tbsp. of cornstarch

  • Four tbsp. of water

  • One egg yolk (beaten)

  • Four sheets of frozen puff pastry

Directions:

  • Take a large pot and turn on high heat. Add oil and beef and cook until it becomes brown. Transfer the cooked meat to a bowl.

  • Lower the flame to medium-high and add oil, onion, garlic, and sauté them.

  • Now, add the beef into the pot with filling ingredients.

  • Cook for 50 minutes. Make sure to stir until the beef becomes tender.

  • After 50 minutes, add the mixture of cornstarch and water into the pot. Mix for 5 minutes to thicken the sauce.

  • Now, remove the pot from the stove and set it aside.

  • Preheat the oven to 350F.

  • Spray oil on pie tins and cut the pastry base.

  • Press the puff pastry into the tins and load with the filling.

  • Cut the pie tops of the puff pastry and put the cover on top of the filling. Gently press the pies.

  • Make holes with a small fork. Brush them with egg wash. Now, bake for 25 minutes or until they become dark golden brown.

  • After that, fetch out the tray and let them rest for a few minutes.

  • Your mini meat pies puff pastries are ready to serve.
