How You Can Easily Cook Beef with Plum Sauce in Less Time




Beef with plum sauce is very easy to make and great in taste. Everyone at your home will definitely love this dish, particularly the individuals who don’t prefer to eat spicy foods. The plum sauce is lightly spiced and provides a great taste to the beef. The preparation time of this recipe is just a couple of minutes and the cooking time is almost instant.


You can also freeze it in the commercial storage fridge after cooking and it will stay fresh for a week. However, it is suggested to make it fresh any time you want to eat. Here is a simple recipe for you to cook beef with plum sauce in less time:


Ingredients to Make Plum Sauce:

  • Plum jam - 16 ounce or ¾ jar

  • White vinegar - 2 tablespoons

  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon

  • Minced onion (dried) - 1 tablespoon

  • Red chili flakes (Crushed) - 1 tsp

  • Garlic (minced) - 1 clove

  • Ground ginger - half tsp

Ingredients to Make Beef with Plum Sauce:

  • Lean beef (remove and discard all the fat and cut into thin strips approximately 2-inches long) - 1.5 pounds

  • Red onion - 1/4 cup (cut into thin strips)

  • Soy Sauce - 1 tablespoon

  • Plum Sauce - 1 tablespoon

  • Honey - 1 teaspoon

  • A pinch of salt

  • Black pepper (freshly ground) - 1 teaspoon

  • Peanut oil or any vegetable oil (for frying) - 2 tablespoons

Instructions:

  1. Start by preparing the plum sauce. Once the plum sauce is ready, the remaining steps are very simple and quick.

  2. To prepare the sauce, add jam, brown sugar, white vinegar, dried onion, crushed red chili flakes, ginger, and garlic in a pan.

  3. Keep the pan on medium flame and stir continuously. Let this mixture boil for a minute and then turn off the flame.

  4. The plum sauce is ready. Now allow it to cool at room temperature and store it in an airtight container in the fridge.

  5. To cook the beef with plum sauce, cut and slice the beef and place in a Ziplock or freezer bag.

  6. It is the best approach to add the beef in a Ziplock bag and then place in the freezer for around 15 – 20 minutes.

  7. Consequently, you will be able to cut the thin beef strips very easily using a sharp knife.

  8. In a medium bowl, add plum sauce, soy sauce, honey, salt and pepper and mix well.

  9. Marinate the thinly cut beef strips with this mixture by pouring it into the Ziplock bag containing beef slices.

  10. Again, place it in the fridge for a minimum of two hours. You can also keep it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.

  11. When you want to cook, take it out of the refrigerator and wait for it to come at room temperature.

  12. Heat the cooking oil in a skillet at high-medium flame. Cook beef and onions and mix frequently for around 3 – 5 minutes.

  13. Turn off the flame and the beef in plum sauce is ready in very less time.

  14. Add it in a serving dish or bowl and garnish with sesame seeds.

  15. Serve it immediately and enjoy.
