Ingredients:
For Custard Topping:
3 cups of milk
2/3 cups sugar (granulated)
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup unsalted butter
For Cake:
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ tsp. baking powder
1/3 cup sugar (granulated)
6-eggs
Butter (for greasing)
For Syrup:
1 cup of water
1-cup sugar
½ tsp. rose water
For Chocolate Topping:
8 oz. chocolate
1/3 cup oil
Directions:
For Custard Topping:
In a pot, pour milk, sugar, and vanilla extract. Heat this mixture. Cook until sugar dissolves.
Take a blender, add flour and half of milk mixture and make a puree until it becomes smooth.
Now add this dough back to the pot containing the rest of the milk mixture.
Cook it on low heat for about 10 minutes.
Strain this custard into a bowl. Let it cool for some minutes.
Now whisk in the butter until it dissolves.
Chill it in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
For Cake:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Take a 13x9 cake pan and grease it with butter.
Take a large bowl and pour cocoa powder, flour, and baking powder and whisk them together.
Now beat the eggs until it becomes foamy and add sugar.
Fold in the egg yolks and then fold the cocoa mixture into egg yolks.
Bake for about 30 minutes.
For Syrup:
In a pot, simmer water, sugar, and rose water for about 5 minutes.
Poke some holes on the cake using a fork.
Now pour syrup on the top of the cake.
Now melt the chocolate and stir in the oil.
To Assemble:
Pour the custard cream on the top of the cake. Use a spatula to spread it evenly.
Now pour chocolate topping and dust some cocoa.
Refrigerate overnight and serve it chilled.
